Dermal Micro Needling

Dermal Micro Needling (Derma Rolling / Medical Needling) is an excellent technique to improve and treat a wide variety of skin conditions, such as; skin texture, large pores, sun damage, pigmentation, wrinkles, and scarring (acne, chick pox, surgical).

What is the treatment like?
After first de-sensitising the skin using a local anaesthetic, the skin is needled. The skin is penetrated to a depth of 1mm to reach the collagen and elastin layer. Minute temporary pin-prick bleeding is caused, which stimulates growth factors, and tissue remodelling takes place over the subsequent weeks and months.
At U Skin & Beauty our treatments include the skin needling combined with the application of high doses of active vitamin serums and hydrators to stimulate optimal collagen production.

Because the upper layer of skin remains intact during the process, the outer protective layer is not destroyed, and the skin returns to normal in only a matter of days. Treatment takes about one hour, and can be repeated on a 6 weekly basis if required.
For six weeks after micro-needling, a dramatic increase of new collagen and elastin fibers will be clearly visible. The increase of new fibers can reach 1000% with one procedure. Treatments are done at a 6 weekly cycle.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your skin condition, and to achieve maximum possible results, we recommend an initial treatment cycle of 3-4 treatments.
