Please follow the advice of our Therapist on the do’s and don’ts after your wax.

Before your wax - how to prepare

• If you’re really worried about the pain then take 2 paracetamol or aspirin about 30 minutes before your appointment. This can help reduce the surface discomfort.
• Your hair should be long enough to be removed completely from the roots – it should be at least 0.5 centimetres. Please don't shave for at least two weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough.
• If possible, wear loose clothing that day to prevent irritation in the post-wax phase.

Post Waxing Care
It’s normal immediately after your wax for skin to be a little bit of red. This should disappear after a few hours.

• Don't wear tight clothing or underwear for the next 12hrs after your wax.
• Don't take a hot bath for the rest of the day, opt for a shower.
• No saunas, public pools or hot spas for at least 24 hours afterwards to avoid cross infection. After your wax your hair follicles are exposed and more susceptible to bacteria.
• No sunbathing for at least the next 12 - 24hrs hours.
• Avoid applying heat to the waxed area. No tanning beds, saunas or steam rooms for the next 24hrs.
• Don’t use any harsh soaps or acid based products on freshly waxed skin as these will irritate the skin. (No fragrances as they can cause a burning sensation)
• Don’t exercise for at least 24 hours after your waxing treatment. Sweat is a breading ground for bacteria
• To ensure you prevent ingrown hairs - exfoliate. Two days after your wax use a mild exfoliator. Our pick is a gentle exfoliating mitt which gently exfoliates skin alone or wet, and can be used with your favorite body wash. Tend Skin can also be applied afterwards to get better results. This needs to be done at least 3 times weekly. (This is particularly important from day 3 to about the 12 day mark.)
• If you get any ingrown hairs try 'Tend Skin', a huge favorite for getting rid of pesky ingrowns. So use 'Tend Skin' to tackle them right away - we stock 'Tend Skin' here.
• Make sure you moisturise the area. This hydrates, nourishes and protects the skin from excessive flaking or irritation. This should be done every day.

For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate
